    YWIEK Curriculum

Throughout its 90 years of development, Yew Chung Yew Wah Early Childhood Education has instilled its pedagogy based on the integration of relevant educational philosophies, theories, and practices. We value the uniqueness of children, believe that they are capable, and see the importance of relationships among teachers, teachers and children and children themselves. On this basis, we have developed corresponding teaching strategies, including learning through play, creation of the environment and learning of a second language scientifically as well as an emergent curriculum.

By creating a stimulating, diverse, age-appropriate, comprehensive, and attractive learning environment for children, Yew Wah enables every child to have a healthy body with a lively and cheerful personality. Yew Wah's multicultural environment grows children into caring, imaginative individuals who love to explore.

    • Emergent Curriculum

Yew Wah adopts an emergent curriculum approach based on children's existing interests that builds, discovers, and explores with children. Instead of just passing on the knowledge, the teacher acts as a facilitator, supporter, and researcher who supports and expands children's interests through an observation-reflection-response approach.

An emergent curriculum allows children to explore spontaneously based on their interests. Children experience the joy of learning through play as well as developing the qualities of active and self-initiated learning, naturally integrating learning in the areas such as health, social, language, science, and art into the process of generative exploration. Through observation and listening, teachers incorporate topics of interest to children into the curriculum, promote co-operation and interaction between teachers and children and among peers. Children will also learn to explore, think, and solve problems actively and independently, and expand their understanding of the world, laying a solid foundation for them to become lifelong learners!
